Two arrested following Rush Twp. accident

A little after midnight Sunday morning, two people were arrested after a two vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of SR54 and SR309 in Hometown, Rush Township. A gold-grey Jeep Compass and a black Corvette were involved. One of the people in the Jeep appeared to have a scratch on his forehead. The Rush Township police took the driver and passenger of the Jeep Compass into custody after removing objects from the Jeep. A family member of the two young men arrested arrived on scene during the arrest. Hometown Fire Company, Quakake Fire Company, Tamaqua Fire Rescue, Tamaqua police, and Hometown Fire Police all responded to the call.
