St. Luke's Miners welcomes fellowship trained colon, rectal surgeons

W. Terence Reilly, MD, FASCRS, Camille Eyvazzadeh, MD, FASCRS and Daniel J. Bowers, MD are treating patients at St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital.

Drs. Reilly, Eyvazzadeh and Bowers are specially trained and highly experienced in the diagnosis and treatment of the many conditions that affect the colon and rectum. At St. Luke's Miners Memorial Hospital, they will provide full services which include diagnosis and treatment of anal rectal disease, including hemorrhoids, fissures and fistula; cancer; inflammatory bowel disease such as Crohn's disease and colitis; diverticulitis and screening colonoscopies."Often people will have a degree of apprehension about approaching their doctor when they believe they may have a disorder with their colon or rectum," shared Reilly. "It is important that they raise any questions they have to their doctor or that they call a specialist. We work to make sure our patients receive the best diagnosis and treatments. While many treatments do not involve surgery, there are new minimally invasive surgical techniques that can be used to help."Dr. Reilly is a board certified colon and rectal surgeon. He graduated from Albany Medical College and completed his residency in general surgery at the University of Illinois, Chicago/Cook County Hospital/Michael Reese Hospital in 1993. He then undertook a three year research/medical fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at the Mayo Clinic. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a Fellow of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, certified in general and colorectal surgery.Dr. Eyvazzadeh is a graduate of Tehran University Medical School, Iran. He completed a residency in general surgery at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Youngstown, Ohio and a colon and rectal surgery fellowship at Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown. Dr. Eyvazzadeh is certified by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery, is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a Fellow of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and is chief of colon and rectal surgery at St. Luke's Hospital & Health Network. He is also a member of the Society of American Gatrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons and the Pennsylvania and Northampton Medical Societies.Dr. Bowers is a graduate of Temple University School of Medicine and completed his residency in general surgery at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. He is a board certified surgeon who completed his colon/rectal fellowship at Stroger Hospital of Cook County, Chicago, Illinois.
