At least one person was injured in this crash along the eastbound lanes of SR248 Saturday afternoon. The crash occurred at 3 p.m. about one half mile east of the intersection of SR209 involving a sports utility vehicle and a car. Franklin Township firefighters had to extricate the driver of the car from the wreckage. The injured were treated at the scene by members of the Palmerton ambulance and Lehighton paramedics then transported to area hospitals. The eastbound lanes were closed to traffic while the westbound lanes were detoured around the scene. Franklin Township police are investigating the incident.
