Spring electronics recycling event scheduled for April

The Carbon County Department of Solid Waste, in cooperation with Advanced Green Solutions, will be hosting a two-day electronics recycling event in Nesquehoning on Monday, April 26 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and Tuesday, April 27 from noon to 6 p.m. The event will take place on Locust Street in Nesquehoning, located by CVS.

During the event, numerous items will be accepted free of charge from the county and its residents, including VCRs, DVD players, radios, stereo equipment, computer towers, printers, scanners, keyboards, laptops, hard drives, mainframe and telecom equipment, application (OEM) equipment, circuit boards of any kind, fax machines, typewriters, and telephones.

Computer monitors will be accepted with a $5 charge; and televisions and air conditioners will be accepted with a $20 charge.

A collection of boxes for old cell phones and printer ink jet cartridges will also be set up at the location.

Please note that no household appliances will be accepted during this event.
