GOP to meet
The Summit Hill Republican Club will hold its monthly meeting tonight at 7 o'clock in the borough hall.
Topics to be discussed will be goals for the upcoming year, as well as the primary election on May 18. Voter registration forms will be available.
President Stephen Redash will be in charge of the meeting and extends an invitation to all to attend. New members are always welcome.
Membership dues for 2010 will be accepted.
The Summit Hill Food Pantry conducts a monthly distribution of food boxes to the needy in the community. Anyone in need of the assistance, or knowing of individuals or families who do, is asked to contact Rose Marie Armon, (570) 645-3604, or Sandra Hill, 645-4617.
The pantry, a non-denominational entity, is always in need of donations and manual assistance.
Lansford Borough officials have announced that as a convenience to the residents of the borough, the annual sewer transmission bills can be paid at the East Penn Bank, 13 W. Ridge St., Lansford, until March 15.
The borough is also collecting the bills in the administrative office and through mail service.
Our Lady of the Angels Academy, Lansford, is currently accepting registrations for the 2010-11 school year. Parents can register their child weekdays between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the school. Other arrangements will be made if the times are inconvenient for parents, who can call (570) 645-7170 or 645-7101 for additional information.
Children registering for kindergarten must be 5 years old by Oct. 15 following the September in which they will enter school. First graders must be 6 years old by that date.
Parents registering their child(ren) must bring the child's birth certificate, baptismal certificate, immunization records and a registration fee.
Stations of Cross
Stations of the Cross will be observed on Friday, March 12, at 7 p.m. in St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford, and will be preceded at 6 o'clock by confessions.
