Eighth graders compete

Students from the Catasauqua and Palmerton School Districts face off in Round 7 of the Academic Challenge Eight (ACE) Competition which was held on Wednesday in the Tamaqua Middle School Auditorium. The program, currently in it's 21st year, is designed for eighth grade students, and was started by middle school principals in the region to bridge the gap between two other academic competitions, Sixth Sense and Scholastic Scrimmage, which is held for sixth grade and high school age students respectively. Participating school districts include, Lehighton, Northwestern Lehigh, Panther Valley, Northern Lehigh, Tamaqua, Palmerton, Jim Thorpe, and Catasauqua. The final and championship rounds will be held Monday, March 8, 2010 at 6:30 PM.
