A Monroe County man is facing a charge of simple assault.

State police at Fern Ridge said Zachary Steven Roeder, 29, of Saylorsburg, got mad at his 29-year-old girlfriend for canceling his cellular phone service. He allegedly grabbed her, threw her to the ground, jumped on her and punched her in the face at least five times, troopers said. She sustained bruises and lumps on her head.Roeder was also charged with harassment and placed in the county prison in Snydersville following arraignment. The incident occurred along SR715 near Evergreen Road in Chestnuthill Township, about 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 28.
