The Tamaqua Salvation Army will sponsor a number of new and continuing programs available to area residents.
Adults 55 and older are welcome to participate in Older and Bolder Wednesdays as well as an all new Monday Coffee Cafe.
The Older and Bolder program will begin March 8 at 10 a.m. The program will include guest speakers and organized activities. For those who pre-register, a light lunch will also be available at each session.
Coffee Cafe Mondays will begin March 15 and be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
A basic computer class is also being offered, beginning March 8. The class will be held Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays for a three week period.
A Red Cross First Aid Certification Class will be held March 25, 26 and 17, from 6-9 p.m.
An AARP Driver's Safety Refresher Class will be held April 28, from noon to 4 p.m. This class is offered to those who have already completed the basic AARP certification class who need to re-certify.

SS. Peter and Paul
Stations of the Cross will be held on Wednesday, at 7 p.m., in SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Holy Hour and confessions will begin at 6 p.m.
Also on Wednesday, the choir will rehearse at 7:30 p.m.
First Friday observances will begin with confessions at 7:30 a.m., followed by Mass and devotions at 8 a.m. Communion calls for parishioners in Hometown and Coaldale will be made on Thursday, while all others will be on Friday.
March 6 is a Fatima Saturday. Confessions will be at 7:30 a.m., followed by a recitation of the Rosary and devotions before the 8 a.m. Mass.
Rosary Sunday will be observed this coming weekend. Members of the parish Holy Rosary Society will attend the 8 a.m. Mass and receive Holy Communion as a group.
Class of 2010
The Decorating Committee for the Parents of the Tamaqua Class of 2010 meets every Monday, at 7 p.m., on the third floor of the Tamaqua Elks, 301 W. Broad St.
Members continue working on decorations for the annual All Night Party.
