Traffic on SR309 in Hometown was affected starting at about 12:30 Sunday afternoon as emergency personnel were called to a two-vehicle accident that occurred next to the Beacon Diner. A white van rear-ended a gray SUV while trying to avoid it and ended up on the newly built street curb built next to the diner. Volunteer firefighters cleaned up the fluids that were coming from the van. Rush Township police, Hometown Fire Company, fire rescue, fire police, and Quakake rescue responded.
