Twenty-six local residents have been honored by Mauch Chunk Trust Company as recipients of Anna Marie Helbing Trust scholarship grants towards their pursuit of a nursing degree.

The award recipients, selected by an independent committee, were recognized at a small reception held in their honor at the North Street branch location in Jim Thorpe.

The 2010 Anna Marie Helbing Trust award recipients are: Rebecca Boyer, Alessandra Buzzetta, Marissa Cantelmi, Angela Cook, Rachelle Doran, Lillie Ann Dunn, Cara Eckhart, Jenelle Fronheiser, Jaime Gieniec, Julie Gintvainis, Julie Gower, Ruth Hahn, Kristen Halenar, Courtney Hertzog, Ashley Italiano, Ashley Jennings, Vanessa Lavin, Rachel Marouchoc, Candy Madera, Annie Mertz, Kimberly Otto, Katie Raymis, RaeAnn Rehrig, Lisa Sittler, Tori Steigerwalt, and Kaitlin Westermann.

This is the 19th consecutive year that Mauch Chunk Trust Company has administered scholarship grants from the generous bequest of Anna Marie Helbing.

Ms. Helbing was a native of Jim Thorpe and enjoyed a nursing career in New York.

According to Mauch Chunk Trust Company Wealth Management Division Manager, Lee Zink, "These students are moving into a profession of care which provides a valuable service to the community; we wish them great success in their studies."
