West Penn students meet California pen pals

The second grade class of Vanessa Boyle at West Penn Elementary School has been pen pals this year with Wheatland Charter Academy, which is an army base in California. The students have been writing each other all year. The kids participated in Skype, which is an online program like distance learning, where they got to converse and see each other. On June 2, the students in the two classes from opposite ends of the country got to meet on-line. Here, Vanessa Boyle shows Frankie Sowers where to look to see his pen pal, Katrell, from Mrs. Buckman's class at Wheatland Charter. A total of 18 students participated in the program.
