End-of-the-year awards given at Mahoning school

Students at Mahoning Elementary School, Lehighton Area School District were recognized at an end-of-the-year awards assembly.

Recognized for maintaining perfect attendance were: kindergarten, Logan Kester and Emily Tonkin; first grade, Kye Weidensaul; second grade, Abigail Hoppes and Madison Light; third grade, Alex Hawk; fourth grade, Ethan Miller

Presented the President's Award For Outstanding Academic Excellence were Piper DeMatte, Nica Devlin, Maura Phelan and Julia Frey.

Awarded the President's Award For Outstanding Academic Achievement were the following students:

Cameron Christman, Codi Balliet, Hunter Laub, Tyler Beck, Devlin Lord, Sean Heery, Cody Scherer, Jonathan Reynolds, Tyler Schock, Traci Edmunds, Lauren Marks, Kira Kuehner, Alyssa Matika, Alivia Paules, Amanda Passiglia and Kara Weikel.

Recipients of the Sen. David Argall Good Citizenship Award were Piper DeMatte, Codi Balliet, Maura Phelan and Julia Frey.

Students who participated in the Envirothon were Wade Keeler, Victor McCandless, Samuel Maholick, Chris Whiteman, Tyler Motzkus, Samantha Banning, CaraAnna Palumbo, Elizabeth Eckhart, Audrey Schaeffer and Emma McClafferty.
