The incoming fourth graders each year are treated to a one-week long class in science at Panther Valley Elementary School in a program sponsored by the Panther Valley Foundation Science Camp. This year the 43 students were given experiments to work on by teachers Krista Dunbar and Mindy Penberth. Each child received a free t-shirt and learns some interesting things in science. Making Oreo ice cream above are Jaimeson Tice-Domines, Hailey Lynn, Emily Lehman, and Trey Turner. Looking on are Air Products employees Chris Misstishin, shipping supervisor and Tom Cara (front) the LIN Ambassador and draftsman. At right, Mark Kokinda samples the Oreo ice cream made by his classmates. Most students ate second helpings of the ice cream after making a second batch. The recipe calls for mixing 1/2 cup sugar, 1 pint heavy whipping cream, 1 pint Half and Half, 1 small container Egg Beater liquid mixture, squirt of vanilla and about 5liters of LIN for 3 batches. Oreo crunchies were added last before stirring.
