Slatington Library needs your support

The Slatington Library would like to thank everyone who has contributed to its annual fundraising campaign and encourage anyone who hasn't yet, to support your local library and encourage you to visit the library. It has books, audio books, computers, magazines, and movies. It is there to serve you and are once again asking for your support. Any amount is welcome and appreciated.

Ocean Theme Arts and Craft classes are being offered. They are designed to teach the art of making papier-m'ché fish and other aquatic ocean creatures. The creatures will be used to turn the library windows into a gain aquarium. Class is open to ages 5 years to adult. Pre-registration is required. Classes will be Mondays and Tuesdays, June 28, 29 and July 5, 6 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Contact the library, 610-767-6461 for more information or the teacher, 610-767-2096.The Wonderful World of Wildlife summer program will begin on Wednesday, June 30 at 10 a.m. Please call the library to register.The Slatington Public Library will be holding its 14th annual Chinese auction on Tuesday, Sept. 21 at the Diamond Fire Co., Main St., Walnutport. we are looking for donations of handcrafted items, gift certificates, gift baskets or like new items for the Chinese auction. If you are able to donate one of these items, they can be dropped off at the library during operational hours. Items will be displayed with the donors name in our window at the end of the summer until the week of the event. Please help make this another successful event.The library accepts book donations with the exception of encyclopedias, text books, and Reader's Digest. There is always a book sale.Library hours are Monday and Wednesday, 9 a.m.-7 p.m.; Tuesday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.; Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m.-2 p.m.; closed Thursday and Sunday.
