2 injured in Route 209 accident
Larry Neff/SPECIAL TO THE TIMES NEWS Jim Thorpe and Nesquehoning police examine a Jeep Cherokee which rolled along Route 209 Sunday afternoon, injuring two occupants.
Two persons were injured Sunday afternoon when the sport utility vehicle they were traveling in rolled along SR209 in Jim Thorpe.
The crash occurred just after 3 p.m. as the pair were traveling north. For unknown reasons, the SUV left the right berm impacting with a rock wall, rolling and coming to rest on its wheels along the right berm.
The two, a 46-year old female and a child, were extricated from the wreckage by members of the Jim Thorpe Fire Department and treated at the scene by members of the Jim Thorpe ambulance and Lehighton paramedics before being transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
The road was closed for over an hour. Jim Thorpe police were assisted by Nesquehoning police and are investigating the incident.
