Comprehensive plan meeting in Lansford

Published June 11. 2010 05:00PM

A town-hall meeting on developing a comprehensive plan for Lansford, Summit Hill and Jim Thorpe is planned for 6:30 p.m. June 21 at the Lansford Recreation Center at 1 W. Ridge Street.

The boroughs are updating their joint land use plan, called the Western Carbon County Comprehensive Plan, to reflect changes in population, traffic and infrastructure that have occurred since the last update in 1966.

Updating the plan for the three boroughs is expected to cost $162,390, Carson Helfrich of Community Planning and Management, LLC, Wayne County, has said.

A similar meeting was held in Jim Thorpe in March.

Residents are invited to attend to ask questions and offer opinions.
