The Tamaqua American Legion donated and raised the Tamaqua Borough Hall United States flag in memory and dedication of the late Rhea Schuetrum, who served as Tamaqua's first meter maid and dispatcher. She also served the American Legion as a 33-year auxiliary member. Rhea's family members stated how strong she was, even explaining that she chose not to have the "PF" added to her last name, like her family does, because it was easier to explain to everyone. Pictured raising the memorial flag are, from left, auxiliary representative Nancy Cabana, family member Shirley Reigel, American Legion Commander Ed Smith, and family members Norman and Marlin Schuetrumpf. Not pictured was Carol Schuetrumpf.
