Tamaqua woman dies of crash injuries

A 29-year-old Tamaqua woman, who was critically injured in a one-vehicle crash late Tuesday night, has died of those injuries.

State police at Frackville said Jessica A. Linkhorst died at 6:05 p.m. Wednesday at the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, where she was flown by medevac helicopter after the crash.

The crash occurred about 11:55 p.m. along SR309 near the bottom of the "Mile Hill" in Kline Township. Troopers said Linkhorst was southbound in a 2004 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck and rounding a left curve. The truck traveled off the road and onto the west berm where it struck a metal guard rail. The truck then traveled back onto the road and across both southbound lanes and off onto the east side where it hit a dirt embankment with the left front of the truck.
