Palmerton Borough Council presented letters of commendation to a borough policeman and four other individuals for saving a two-year-old Aquashicola youngster from drowning on May 29. Cited for the heroic effort were patrolman Charles Cebrosky, Donald Fritz, Charles Dimovitz, and Morris Bloomfield, all of Palmerton, and William Rehrig of Aquashicola. They rescued John Doyne, son of Mrs. Glady Doyne, pulling the unconscious toddler from the rain swollen Aquashicola Creek about 1,000 yards from where he tumbled into the water.
