86 runners, walkers participate in annual ZooStock Challenge

In Saturday's sweltering heat and humidity, a record number of 86 Runners and Walkers crossed the finish line at the 4th Annual ZooStock Challenge 5K Run/Walk benefiting the Carbon-Schuylkill Units of the American Cancer Society.
The 3.1 mile course wound through the streets and roads of Lansford ending at The Zoo and followed by the awards ceremony and a food fest while being entertainment by Cody Sassaman of Tamaqua.
Race organizer Katie Moran noted, "it was an awesome turnout and we hope to see everybody back again next year".
The Run is one of numerous events organized by Jesse Hiles and the Sports Zoo/Halftime Bar Crew. One combined check is presented at the American Cancer Society Telethon held each spring carried live on TV13. The next event is the Putt and Brew on July 17th followed by ZooStock, Labor Day Monday, September 6th.
