St. John Lutheran

Communion will be held on Sunday, June 6 at the 9:15 a.m. service conducted by the Rev. Phyllis J. Wofford, pastor, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 200 E. Mauch Chunk Street.

Summer office hours have begun. The church will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Bible Study will be held on Wednesday, June 9 at 6:30 p.m.

St. Peter's, Mantzville

St. Peter's Church, Mantzville, will hold its Morning Worship service with Holy Communion celebration in the pews on Sunday, June 6 at 9 a.m.

At 10:15 a.m., Summer Sunday School kicks off with a Sundae Sunday. At 7 p.m. the Youth Group will meet.

On Wednesday, June 9, retirees will meet at 10 a.m.

On Thursday, June 10, the Prayer Group meets at 5 p.m.

Pastor Wells will be on vacation from June 7-12.

Notre Dame Club

The Notre Dame Club of Schuylkill County will meet Sunday, June 6 at 5 p.m. at the East End Fire Company, Tamaqua.

Calvary Evangelical

Calvary Evangelical United Methodist Church, corner of Catawissa and Valley Roads, Lewistown Valley, will hold Sunday School for everyone at 9:15 a.m. this Sunday, June 6. The Morning Worship service will be conducted at 10:25 a.m. by the Rev. Brian Reading, who will deliver a message entitled "Our Last Line of Defense." Special music has been selected by Jordan Heisler. Nursery service is available.

The Sunday evening Praise and Bible Study will be held at 6:30 p.m.

On Wednesday, June 9, Evening Praise and Bible Study will be held for all at 7 p.m.

On Thursday, June 10, a concert by the Lumber River Quartet of North Carolina will be held at Lewistown Valley Tabernacle, 614 Valley Road.

Red Cross Blood Drive

An American Red Cross Blood Drive was held on May 26 at St. John UCC, sponsored by Bittner's General Store. Fifty units of blood were collected.

Blood drive volunteers included Bob and Dolly Shirey, Phyllis Lane, Marilyn Felsoci, Ardis Gerhard, Darlene Zeckman, Robert Zeckman, Sara Jane Bensinger, Jean Tonkin and Jean Stephens. Setup volunteers were Randy Gormley, Mike Trubilla, Biob Zeplin, Jack Rarick and Jack Quinn.

Brittney Oswald was a first-time donor. Brenda Ernst reached the three-gallon donor mark.

SS. Peter and Paul

The Holy Name Society of SS. Peter and Paul Church, Tamaqua, will meet on Thursday, June 10 at 8 p.m. Mass will be held at 7:30 p.m.
