Recycling program in Hometown is bustling
ANDREW LEIBENGUTH/SPECIAL TO THE TIMES NEWS
Susan Young and her nephews Mike Wargo, 8, on left, and Alex Wargo, 6, show their pride for the environment by dropping off recyclables at recycle bins located next to the Hometown Fire Company on SR54 in Hometown. Joe Murphy, a Hometown resident, who was also dropping off recyclables, stated the great success of the recycling program as these bins are being filled almost every day and have to be emptied up to three times a week. To prove that fact, in less than five minutes, five vehicles pulled up to the bins to drop off recyclables. Another resident pointed out that this program is great for any community and everyone should get involved. For more information on these bins, contact your local solid waste and resource management office.
