"Cruise to the Music," an annual music-fest and cruise for pets event, will be held Saturday, June 19, from 3 to 11 p.m. at Memorial Park, West 10th St. in Jim Thorpe.

All proceeds will benefit Carbon County Friends of Animals and the United Way of Carbon County.

During the event, families can enjoy a community yard sale, Chinese auction, and craft show. Any vendors or individuals interested in setting up a table should contact Denise Sebelin, president of the Carbon County Friends of Animals, at (570) 325-4310 to reserve a spot.

The car cruise, hosted by Jukebox Cruisers Car Club, will begin at 3 p.m.

A live broadcast from Magic 105.5 WMGH will take place from 3 to 6 p.m.; and free activities will be offered in the park for kids. Pet rescue groups will also be in attendance throughout the day.

There will be music provided by DJs Rich and Bill; as well as live music by Tim Marchetta, the Jim Thorpe and Carbon County Idols, Jim Thorpe High School Jazz Band, Analog Velvet, and Sweet Revenge.

Food will be available; as well as refreshments and baked goods.

Sebelin said that the group is still looking for sponsors for the event.

"We're in dire need of monetary donations to defray the operating expenses," she said.

If anyone would like to make a monetary donation, send it to CCFOA, 900 Walnut Avenue, Jim Thorpe, PA 18229. A note on the check should designate it to "Cruise to the Music."

Kimmy Mulik, vice president of the Carbon County Friends of Animals also urges everyone to come out and support the two organizations.

"Come on out and celebrate Father's Day by treating your dad to a fun, free event that the entire family will enjoy," she said. "Last year was a huge success, let's make this year an even bigger event."

For more information about the event, contact Denise at the aforementioned number.
