Two vehicles collide in Hometown

Just before 11 p.m. on Memorial Day, emergency responders were called to a two-vehicle accident involving a grey Mitsubishi Galant and a Turkey Hill refrigerated delivery truck that occurred at the intersection of SR-309 and SR-54 in Hometown. A nearby resident stated that the owner of the Mitsubishi was traveling southbound on SR-309 when for some unknown reason made a u-turn at the intersection resulting in the collision with the Turkey Hill delivery truck which was traveling north on SR-309. The names and extent of injuries are unknown. A traffic sign was also knocked down following the collision. Rush Township Police were seen removing cans from the Mitsubishi and placing them on the hood. Rush Township Police are investigating. The Hometown Fire Company, Quakake Fire Company, Hometown Rescue Squad, Hometown volunteer Fire Police and Tamaqua Ambulance responded to the call.
