Assemblyman Joseph Semanoff of Lehighton, Carbon County representative in the General Assembly of Pennsylvania, was appointed a Pennsylvania ambassador to Holland. During a session of the assembly this afternoon, a resolution was read and adopted naming Semanoff as a Pennsylvania representative on Sept. 7, the 25th anniversary of the liberation of Holland from the Nazis. Semanoff, in World War II, was a paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division. He received a standing ovation.
