Splash Day at Bungalow Pool
ANDREW LEIBENGUTH/SPECIAL TO THE TIMES NEWS Tamaqua Bungalow Pool staff and volunteers pause during a downfall for a quick photo during the Tamaqua Bungalow Pool's annual Splash Day.
Heavy rain didn't completely slow down the activities held during the 21st annual Tamaqua Bungalow Pool Splash Day held Sunday.
Even though the event was cut short due to heavy rains, the Splash Day event started off great with activities such as games, limbo, water balloons, and a special floating section, in which swimmers were allowed to bring their floatables in the pool.
Assistant manager Adrian Bumbulsky said they also offered "mocktails", which were fun ice drink cocktails for kids. Special Splash Day specials were also offered on the menu of the concession stand operated by the Broad Street Deli.
Music entertainment was provided for free for 21 consecutive years by DJ Jack and Dave. Bungalow Park Commission member Pauline Boettger stated, "Despite the rainy weather, we had a great turnout of people ranging all ages."
