Weatherly Legion installs officers

VICTOR IZZO/SPECIAL TO THE TIMES NEWS Weatherly American Legion Post 360 and Auxiliary held itsannual picnic at Eurana Park in Weatherly Monday evening in Picnic Shelter No. 1. At that time, both the Weatherly American Legion Post 360 and Auxiliary held their installation of officers for the upcoming year along with Post 383 of Beaver Meadows. The installation ceremony was presided over by a delegation from American Legion District 40 headed by Harry J. Wynn III. There was also a presentation to Dietrich - Luhman Post 360 American Legion Weatherly of an American flag that was flown over Camp Eggers in Kabul, Afghanistan. The flag was presented to Post 360 Commander Thomas Keener by William Farrow. When the installation of officers and presentation were finished, everyone enjoyed a picnic in the Park. Newly installed officers of Weatherly Unit 360 Auxiliary are, front, left to right : Georgia Farrow, Jr. Sgt. at Arms; Joan Drasher, Unit Treasurer; Cathy Olker, District President, Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe, and Northhampton Counties; Frances Keener, Unit President; and Julia Cooper, Sgt. at Arms. Rear from left : Janet Leibensperger, Chaplain; Joyce Hinkle, Secretary; Donna Thomas, 2nd Vice President; Georgeann Herling, First Vice President; and Elaine Bynon, Historian.
