Emergency personnel were called to a one-vehicle accident on Cedar Street in Tamaqua at about 10 p.m. Wednesday, in which a male driver of a green Mercury Topaz GS struck a pole at the entrance to the Boyer's parking lot. Tamaqua police, ambulance, rescue, and the East End Fire Company volunteers responded. Rainy weather might have contributed to the accident. No injuries were reported. The vehicle had to be towed away. Fire police closed Cedar Street until the scene was cleared.
