A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) and more following a traffic stop that occurred about 6:55 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21, along SR61 near the off ramp of Interstate 81, in West Mahanoy Township.

State police at Frackville said Christopher Young, 30, of Minersville, was stopped while operating a Dodge Caravan.

Young had been entered in the CLEAN/NCIC database as missing and wanted by state parole agents for violating his parole terms.

While troopers spoke with Young they detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from him and he showed signs of intoxication. He was placed under arrest for DUI and taken to the barracks for a breath test. The test revealed Young had a .13BAC.

He was taken into custody and faces numerous traffic code violations in addition to the DUI charge.
