The closing of the South Tamaqua branch of the Wachovia bank will be the second major business to close at the busy South Tamaqua intersection in West Penn Township. Two years ago the area's landmark restaurant, Leiby's, closed its doors after 40 years of serving area residents. The two businesses sit adjacent on the same lot at the intersection of state routes 309 and 443.
