Community supper

A free community supper will be held from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, July 22 at St. John's Episcopal Church, 365 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton. Come enjoy a free meal and fellowship. No meal to cook or dishes to wash in the heat.

Park concert

The band Crazy Heart will perform on Sunday, July 25 in the Palmerton Borough Park. The concert begins at 7 p.m. In case of rain, the event will be held in the borough hall, 443 Delaware Ave. Bring a lawn chair. This week's concert is sponsored by the First National Bank of Palmerton.

Palmerton Library

The summer reading program for kids will continue at the Palmerton Area Library every Thursday and Friday morning at 10:30 a.m. for the rest of July. There are programs for these different age groups, featuring puppet shows, stories, crafts, games and music. Call the library at (610) 826-3424 for information, or check out the website to see what movies and books are available and place a hold on a movie or book. The library staff will call you when the item is available so you can come to the library to pick up your movie or book.

Movies and books may be returned at any time in the drop box located in front of the library. The library will be open July and August on Mondays and Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
