"The Steve Kropp Band", based out of Fredericksburg Virginia, performed recently at the Lewistown Tabernacle in Tamaqua. A 1996 graduate and native of Tamaqua, Contemporary Christian musician leader/songwriter Steve Kropp, now resides in Fredericksburg, Va. Steve is the son of Herbert and Kathy Kropp and grandson of Richard and Kathleen Jones, Tamaqua, and Dorothy Kropp, New Ringgold. Kropp, occasionally writes songs with others, he prefers to pen most of the lyrics himself, and continues making more albums dedicated to spreading God's word. The Steve Kropp Band is an energetic music ministry based out of Fredericksburg, VA. In 2009, a grass roots approach had Steve and friends making over 75 appearances in worship settings across Virginia.

The group's original songs range from rock to bluegrass, and span five CDs released in the past five years. With a staff position at a local church, Steve also has a vast repertoire of praise and worship favorites, contemporary-style hymns, & spirituals.
