Couple is charged with dealing drugs from home
A Monroe County couple has been charged with drug dealing from their home.
Pocono Mountain Regional police said Victor Requena, 43, and his wife, Doreen Cruz-Requena, 40, both of 91 Knox St., Mt. Pcoono, have been charged with dealing cocaine from their home and face numerous drug related charges.
Police said on Saturday, July 17, a search warrant was executed at their residence incident to drug trafficking.
Pocono officers, along with members of the Monroe County Drug Task Force, entered the home about 9:30 a.m. The couple was home at the time along with their 11-year-old daughter.
A search resulted in the seuzure of quantities of cocaine, cocaine cutting agents used in the manufacture of cocaine for street level sales, packaging materials, digital scales covered in cocaine residue, marijuana, and unknown prescription type medications.
Police also seized communications detailing drug dealing throughout the area to local customers from sources within the home.
Police learned through the investigation that the couple would bring cocaine in from Brooklyn, N.Y., in bulk, and usually by bus, and packaged it for street level sales. During an interview with police the couple admitted to illegal trafficking in cocaine from the residence for several months due to a recent loss in employment. The couple said they needed to make money and sold the drugs.
Both were charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine, delivery, criminal conspiracy, criminal use of a communication device, possession of marijuana and related offenses.
Victor Requena was committed to the county prison in Snydersville pending arraignment. Doreen Cruz-Requena was released pending arraignment later this week, police added.
