Annual Bowmanstown picnic has entertainment and food

The annual combined picnic of the Bowmanstown/Parryville Lions Club, Bowmanstown Fire Co., and Bowmanstown Fire Co. Auxiliary will be held Friday through Sunday at the fire company.

On Friday, the ultimate oldies' group, Remember When, will be performing.One of the most popular oldies' band in the region, Remember When plays the best of the oldies, on stage from 7-10 p.m.Keyboardist Bud Wychulis, guitarist Jim Martuscelli, and drummer Rick Martuscelli have been entertaining audiences for a combined total of nearly 70 years.After Remember When, "DJ Solarczyk" will be in the fire company social hall from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m.On Saturday, from 7-10 p.m., "Flirting With the Mob" will entertain featuring the Phat Bottom Horns Show Band. This 11-piece show band has been traveling up and down the East Coast. It has become popular in the Lehigh Valley Area, performing at the Lehigh Valley Grand Prix, Iron Pigs Stadium, and Mount Airy Casino.The band sings songs from the 60s to the 80s, and interjects some blues.Afterward on Saturday, The Captives, a local band, will play some favorite dance tunes in the social hall.Sunday, from 5-8 p.m., country singer Donna Parsons will be on stage. Parsons has recorded CDs and had some songs climb national record charts.The picnic benefits the three sponsoring organizations.Carolyn Spairana, an auxiliary member, said there is undercover seating, free parking, and free admission.
