Woman injured in Tamaqua accident

Just before 8 a.m. Monday emergency responders were called to a two-vehicle accident that occurred on North Greenwood Street in Tamaqua. Reportedly, a woman driver of a red Chevrolet Blazer was traveling north on North Greenwood Street when for some unknown reason slammed into the front of a green Chevrolet Uplander LS parked facing front ways on the right side of the road. The female driver was taken to the hospital via ambulance. The extent of her injuries are unknown. Both vehicles had to be towed. Tamaqua Fire Department, Tamaqua Rescue, and police responded. Fire police closed North Greenwood Street during the incident.
