The female victim was interviewed and related two males were riding bicycles and as they rode by her one attempted to grab her purse. A description of the suspect was given to police.
At 11:31 a.m. police were dispatched to the tobacco outlet store for a reported armed robbery. At the store the clerk told police a young male entered the store and robbed him at gunpoint. The suspect fled with several hundred dollars, police said. The suspect fled on a bike, police noted, that matched the description given by the female in the purse incident.
While police were still on-scene at the outlet they received a call from the manager of the PNC bank branch in Mt. Pocono that a suspicious male entered the bank but left without incident. Police went to the bank and viewed surviellance footage. The male observed in the footage was wearing the same clothing as the suspect in the tobacco shop robbery.
