Water boil advisory for Hometown residents
The Tamaqua Area Water Authority has issued a water boil advisory for its customers located near SR54, west of South Street in Hometown. Due to a water main break on Wednesday, the authority is advising its customers to boil their drinking water until further notice. As a precaution, DO NOT DRINK YOUR WATER WITHOUT BOILING IT FIRST.
This water boil advisory applies only to Tamaqua Area Water Authority customers near SR54, west of South Street in Hometown. It does not affect customers in Tamaqua Borough, South Tamaqua, or other service areas.
Customers should bring thier water to a rolling boil, let it boil for one minute, then let it cool before using, or use bottled water. You should use boiled or bottled water for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth and food preparation until further notice.
