A Carbon County psychologist is facing sexual assault charges.

Mahoning Township police have filed charges against Michael Degilio of Lehighton. Degilio, who has a psychology practice in an office along SR443, has been charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent assault and indecent exposure.Police allege that Degilio forced a patient to perform sexual acts on him in his office. The charges are the result of a lengthy investigation.The arrest papers were filed on Wednesday, Jan. 27. Degilio is scheduled to appear at the office of District Judge Edward Lewis, of Jim Thorpe, this week to be arraigned and bail set.
