A dog has been found dead in a cage along a Monroe County roadway.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said the dog was found along Green Road near SR196 on Saturday, Jan. 14, about 4:30 p.m. The medium size dog, possibly a pit bull terrier, was discovered in the cage. The dog had a pink nylon collar but no tag was found. The cage was white with a black door.Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call police at (570) 895-2400.
