A 16-year-old Tamaqua male escaped injury when his car crashed along Valley Road in Walker Township, Schuylkill County, about 7:15 p.m. on Monday.

State police at Frackville said the teen was driving west when he failed to negotiate a right curve and went off the road. His 2000 Volkswagen Jetta traveled 105 feet before it struck and sheared a utility pole. It then traveled another 60 feet before hitting a fence in a yard at 1444 Valley Road, where it came to rest.
