Summit Hill news
The schedule for the Coaldale/Summit Hill United Methodist Charge for Sunday, Feb. 21, is as follows:
Worship services will be held at 9 a.m. in the Summit Hill United Methodist Church and at 11 a.m. in the Coaldale United Methodist Church. The Rev. Burgess Gordon, pastor, will preside at both services.
The adult Sunday school will meet at 9:45 a.m. in the Coaldale church.
St. Paul Lutheran
The schedule for St. Paul Lutheran Church, Summit Hill, for Sunday, Feb. 21, is as follows:
Sunday school, 9 a.m.; service of worship, 10:30 a.m.; and Confirmation class, 6:30 p.m.
Sunday is also the deadline for submitting items for the church's newsletter. The submissions can be made to Paige Rex.
On Wednesday, Feb. 24, midweek Lenten services will be held at St. Johns Slovak Lutheran Church, Lansford. A soup and sandwich supper will be held at 6 p.m., followed by the worship service at 7 o'clock. This will be a service of Holy Communion using the Holden Evening Prayer Service. The homily for this week will be on The Ten Commandments and will be given by Rev. John Keiter.
League to meet
The joint Summit Hill and Nesquehoning Little League programs will hold their first meeting of the season on Sunday, Feb. 21, at 7 p.m. in the Nesquehoning Borough Building. Election of officers will take place at this time and major announcements concerning the league/season are expected. It is highly recommended that all members and parents attend this meeting.

The schedule for the Hope of Christ Presbyterian Church, Summit Hill, for Sunday, Feb. 21, is as follows:
Junior choir, 8:45 a.m.; adult Bible class, 9 a.m.; Sunday school, 9:15 a.m. and worship service, 10:30 a.m. Child care will be provided.
St. Joseph Church
The weekly scripture sharing sessions at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Summit Hill, will resume tonight at 7 o'clock in the rectory.
On Friday, Feb. 19, Mass will be held at 9 a.m., followed by Eucharistic adoration and the "Encountering the Merciful Savior" program, which will close with Stations of the Cross at 11 a.m.
