Lehighton man allegedly had heroin in Carbon jail

A Lehighton man was charged with bringing a "bundle" of heroin into the Carbon County Prison.

Joseph Lewis Moyer of North Street, Lehighton, was arrested on the charges by Nesquehoning police. He reportedly is lodged in the prison on motor vehicle charges.

According to Chief of Police Sean Smith, Moyer allegedly brought 10 bags of "one bundle" of heroin into the prison. Smith said the heroin was stamped "monster."

The arresting officer was patrolman Brian White of the Nesquehoning Police Department.

White reportedly received a call at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 12 from Sgt. Gablick at the Carbon County Prison regarding the alleged contraband.

Moyer has been charged with a felony count of contraband and misdemeanor charges of controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
