The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has lifted all the temporary speed limit restrictions on highways in East Central Pennsylvania.
This includes the counties of Berks, Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe, Northampton, and Schuylkill. Speeds on these highways have been restored to 50, 55, and 65 mph.PennDOT is urging motorists in the region to not travel unless absolutely necessary.Although PennDOT will have crews treating roadways around the clock, the department's primary goal is to keep roads passable, not completely free of ice and snow.
