Nesquehoning police arrests
Nesquehoning police reported two arrests and another incident.
Chief Sean Smith and Officer Timothy Wuttke served a warrant on Bradley S. Allen, 612 Apple St., Bowmanstown, on Wednesday, Feb. 3, charging him with felony counts of criminal conspiracy and theft.
The charges stem from an incident on Dec. 23, 2009, at the CVS pharmacy in the borough. Allen and a accomplice went to the store and attempted to get a prescription for oxycodone tablets filled but were denied by the store personnel. They then allegedly began stealing merchandise from the store with a value of over $500.
Allen was arraigned before District Judge Casimir T. Kosciolek, of Lansford, and committed to the county prison in lieu of $5,000 straight bail.
Smith and Carl Faust, building inspector, condemned a property at 1 W. Garibaldi Ave. on Jan. 20, 2009, for uniform construction and code violations because there is no working fire alarm system in the building. Also, the sprinkler system does not work. Police said the owner is being cited on a daily basis until all occupants that are still in the building are out and until the building is brought up to code.
Wuttke filed a summay charge of harassment against Christopher Jones, 11 N. School St. Jones allegedly spit on his ex-girlfriend Jessica Marshall, 306 Lansford Court, on Wednesday, Feb. 3, police said.
