N.Y. man bought alcohol for minors

A New York, N.Y., man has been arrested by Pocono Mountain Regional Police for allegeding purchasing alcohol for minors earlier this month in Tobyhanna.

Pocono Mountain Regional Police reported the arrest of Manual Beras, 39, on charges of corruption of minors and furnishing alcohol to minors.

Police said they were dispatched on Dec. 9 at 6:59 p.m. to attempt to locate a 14-year-old female that had not returned home from school. The investigation led police to 6337 Ventnor Drive where the female was located with her 15-year-old boyfriend. Police said both juveniles were intoxicated and it was learned that Beras, identified as the boy's uncle, had purchased the alcohol and consumed it along side of the juveniles throughout the day.

Beras was arraigned before a district justice and the female juvenile was released to her mother, police said.
