More than 20 members and soldiers of the Tamaqua Salvation Army church, an evangelical part of the universal Christian church, celebrated the birth of Christ during its first annual Live Nativity play held recently in the chapel of the Salvation Army Corps located on West Broad Street in Tamaqua. Tamaqua Salvation Army members Mel Latham, playing Mary, and Kevin Schank, 13, playing Joseph, reenact the nativity scene while other group members play an angel and shepherds.
