A female motorist was seriously injured Sunday afternoon after losing control of her sport utility vehicle along Little Gap road in Lower Towmensing township. The crash occurred just after 1 p.m. as she was traveling east near the intersection of 57 road. For some unknown reason her SUV swerved to the left, crossed the roadway entering the north berm where it impacted with several trees before rolling back onto the road. She was extricated from the wreckage by members of the Aquashicola Fire Company then treated at the scene by members of the Palmerton ambulance and Lehighton paramedics. She was later flown from the scene by MedEvac helicopter to the Lehigh Valley Hospital Trauma Center in Allentown. State police at Lehighton are investigating the incident.
