Water boil advisory issued for part of Hometown

The Tamaqua Area Water Authority has issued a water boil advisory for its customers in one section of Hometown. Due to a water main break on Sunday, Dec. 19, the Authority is advising its customers to boil their drinking water until further notice. As a precaution. residents are cautioned not to drink the water without boiling it first.

This water boil advisory applies to all Tamaqua Area Water Authority customers located on the following streets in Hometown: Beechwood, Clarryan, Elizabeth, Laurelwood, Locust, Sherwood, Rymin Road and Ardmore Avenue south of Locust Street.

This advisory DOES NOT affect customers in Tamaqua, South Tamaqua, Clamtown, Newkirk, Reevesdale, or other sections of Hometown.

Customers should bring all water to a rolling boil, let it boil for one minute, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth, and food preparation until further notice.
