A Toy's for Tots Skating Party was sponsored by Boy Scout Troop 555 to benefit the operation by collecting toys from those attending.

Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Cub Scouts from the Jim Thorpe and Penn Forest areas enjoyed the skating party at the skating rink in Jim Thorpe Memorial Hall. The price of admission for the skaters attending was one donated toy from each one of them to go to Toys for Tots. About 65 skaters enjoyed an afternoon of skating their way around the rink to the accompaniment of Christmas music in the background.

The festive atmosphere set the scene for the highlight of the skating party which was a visit direct from the North Pole by the guests of honor, Santa and Mrs. Claus. The scouts participating were from Boy Scout Troop 555; Girl Scout Troops 30135, 34229, and 34288; and Cub Scout Packs 138 and 567.

Upon their arrival at the skating rink in Jim Thorpe Memorial Hall, Santa and Mrs. Claus greeted the kids attending the Toy's for Tots Skating Party sponsored by Boy Scout Troop 555., Evan and John Fedora of Cub Scout Pack 567 got their turn at meeting with Santa Claus.
