Panther Valley Women's Club president Sue Solt, right, hands a $250 donation to Bernetta Frantz, director of Children and Family Development Services for Pathstone, which administers the Head Start program in Carbon County. Frantz holds a book, Splat the Cat, also donated by the club. Frantz said the money will be divvied up among the five classrooms in the program, housed at the Coaldale Complex. Each classroom will use its share to purchase items based on the needs of the children in that room. The donation will also bring in more federal dollars for the program, which receives $4 in grant money for every $1 in donations.
